Three PKB Locations Targeted to Apply Smart Card in 2020

The Jakarta Transportation Agency targets additional three locations of motor vehicle testing center (PKB) in Jakarta that have applied with smart cards in 2020.

Next year all vehicles must use smart card to test their vehicles

Smart card is a substitute for a vehicle test book that has many advantages. With smart cards, all testing data will be integrated nationally.

The most important thing is useful for the cashless levy test funding scheme through Bank DKI. It can also minimize the potential for counterfeiting of motorized vehicle test books.

Smart Card for Vehicles in Jakarta is Tested

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Syafrin Liputo disclosed it would be realized in the Ujung Menteng PKB, Cilincing PKB and Kedaung Angke PKB.

"This year its use has been implemented in the Pulogadung PKB," he expressed, Wednesday (10/23)

Its implementation has based on article 152, the Government Regulation number 55/2012 on each vehicle that has conducted a test of the vehicle is entitled to get a KIR evidence in the form of Test Card, Test Marks and Side Signs of Motorized Vehicles.

It also refers to the Land Transportation Director General Regulation number SK.2922/AJ.402/DRJD/2017 dated on May 8, 2018 on Technical Guidelines for Passing Test of Periodic Motorized Vehicles, all KIR evidence is changed to become a Smart Card.

"Next year all vehicles must use smart card to test their vehicles. This is a transformation in an increasingly modern era," he stated.
